The Off The Tarmac Trail Marathon & 10 Mile Trail Race, deliver a true mountain challenge across the iconic Pen y Fan range. Expect steep climbs, technical trails, wild weather, and those unbeatable views that make every step worth it. 🏃‍♂️💨⛰️

From the summit of Pen y Fan, Fan y Big and Tor y Foel, this race is built for runners who want more than a standard road event — it’s pure mountain running with heart.

The 10 Mile route follows the OTT Marathon Trail route to Checkpoint 1. There is a mandatory check-in at Checkpoint 1 before you follow the forestry tracks back to the start line.

Friendly marshals, well‑placed checkpoints and a community that lives for the outdoors make this one of the most rewarding days you’ll have on the trails.

All finishers will receive a OTT Trail Marathon coaster and buff.

You’ll need the following compulsory kit on the day (Trail Marathon): 

• Mobile phone(fully Charged at the start)
• Hydration (minimum of 1 litre)
• Foil blanket or Bivi Bag 
• Food & Emergency Rations (400 Cals emergency rations)
• Basic 1st aid kit 
• Head torch or torch 
• Compass
• Whistle
• Waterproof jacket and trousers (Tapped seems)
• Warm Layer, hat, and Gloves
• Bag/Ruck Sack  

There are 3 checkpoints for the race:

• Checkpoint 1  at 7 miles.
• Checkpoint 2 at 14.5 miles
• Checkpoint 3 at  20.5 miles.

*The cut-off for this event is 15:00 at checkpoint 3. This is 6 hours after the start of the race, so a pace of 20mins/mile or quicker is required of entrants.

• First Aid Kit
• Bivy Bag/Foil Blanket
• 500ml of Water
• Waterproof Jacket

There is no cut-off for this event.
